One of the largest technical and vocational institutes in Chile, 20 campuses across the country.

Students: 94,000+

Late 2012

Challenges:

Given the size of the school and number of campuses, students needed a more effective way to communicate with one another.

Moofwd’s Response:

Testimonial

“This mobile project comes in response to the need for AIEP students to have a constant line of communication with the institution. While there were existing services such as self-service or our website, we were lacking real-time functionality, and this is exactly the robust and efficient solution that Moofwd delivered to us.
AIEP is the first institution to incorporate this service to (Laureate) students and Moofwd was instrumental in this great milestone, currently offering more than 5 versions for students and teachers, as well as a version for the employees of the institution. Important to highlight, in addition to the product itself, is that Moofwd was with us every step of the way, from focus groups with students and teachers to the launch of the app as well as with ongoing improvements. Today students can register and pay for classes through the app, as well as access all of the academic services.

Undoubtedly, this is a milestone that determined the technology trend that AIEP wants to follow, and along these lines, Moofwd is a reliable and strategic ally.”

Universidad del Valle de México (UVM)

Mexico City, Mexico

Private university with 37 campuses and the largest higher education institution in Mexico.

Students: 120,000+

App Launched:

October 2015

Challenges:

UVM needed an effective communication tool to give students and professors the ability to stay connected across their 37 campuses, which are spread throughout the country.

Moofwd’s Response:

Integrated attendance system that allows professors to record attendance even if they’re offline. Data is stored on the phone and synced with servers. Once there is a better connection data is sent to the server. Now professors have the convenience of entering grades from their devices. This has been helpful since grades often need to be input as the semester is ending. Almost 50% of students and 1,600 professors are actively using the app.

Integration:

Moofwd integrated massive access for their SIS for more than 30 campuses across the country. App features can be utilized in both online and offline mode. In addition, there is a communication and notification tool for multiple roles such as students and professors.

Testimonial

Moofwd’s Response:

Having an integrated app paved the way for effective and efficient communication. All main systems were integrated including grades, attendance, cafeteria, and scheduling. Moofwd’s Response:

Students now have the ability to access their campus app in their language based on location. UE Spain came on board with an aggressive action plan to include prospective students, campus life and alumni for both Spain and Portugal beginning with alumni. Moofwd is working towards supporting them further through providing a coherent integrated solution for all their campus needs. Another value-added feature provided through the app is a financial system which informs students payments pending in real time.

Moofwd implemented a QR enabled app for the school. This feature allows students to use their phone to pay in the cafeteria and library through their QR code. Additionally, QR codes were placed on the walls of classrooms that can be scanned to obtain technical support or in case of an emergency. Students’ usage within the app is easily accessible. UVM also utilizes Moofwd’s module of professor surveys, where students can evaluate their professors at the end of each semester.

Over 95% of students are using the app; 35% of students are using it daily. Their app has been very well received by both students and faculty alike. They have been constantly upgrading and implementing new features over the past three years.

Integration:

Moofwd integrated with more than four main systems which include SIS, LMS, two job search systems, and student benefits systems. Through Moofwd’s Zubron MBaaS system all systems can now be accessed via single sign-on.

Testimonial

“At the university three phenomena were obstructing the communication we wanted to have with our students and professors:

  •    Lack of use of university platforms (institutional mail, website, self-service, etc.)
  •    Many communication channels (portal, self - service, moodle, mail, screens, etc.)
  •    Exponential increase in use of smartphones in the daily lives of students and professors

Moofwd’s solution helped us solve all these problems in an intelligent, intuitive and creative way. In addition Moofwd has been an excellent partner, who has supported us in the academic and administrative processes with modern and functional solutions.”
